Life . . . .

Life can be crazy! Two weeks ago Dale left for Brazil and my sister Shalise went home to Iowa (after playing with us for 12 weeks!) Yes, I must say I miss them both!! Hearing Dale's stories about Brazil gives me much to be thankful for living in America! I am thankful for grocery stores that are clean without cockroaches running around, I am thankful for a washing machine, hot water and much more!

The kids and I never have a dull moment! Sidney recently completed a poster size map of the United States complete with State Capitals, rivers that sparkled with blue glue, and mountains with the texture of sand. Cole made goo out of Elmers and Borax that actually worked!! His very own Flarp! We went "camping" with the Daybells last weekend in Mapleton Canyon -- WOW what a pretty time of year to camp! We went on a hike, painted rocks, and played in the fire as much as possible! (The tent is a little too cold for me this time of year, so we came home to sleep and then right back up for Super Steve Breakfast in the morning!) We are thinking of investing in a trailer for more adventures next year . . . .

Whew -- that's our current life in a nutshell!

Ducks

Its sure been a while! So whats been happening at our house? Well, yesterday I noticed that our bread was moldy! And what do you do with moldy bread? No, don't throw it out! FEED THE DUCKS!! So we invited Shalise and Brook to tag along! We ended the day with delicious milkshakes from Cheveron! Yum!

And here's the first day of school pic! Sid is in 8th grade, Coles in 5th and Rett started kindergarten! (I kinda accidentally forgot to take a picture of Rett on HIS first day. . . oops.)

Retts Birthday

I know, I know. His birthday was a long time ago! But with all the summer fun we've been having, there's been no time! So here it is!
He wanted a Spiderman cake so Sid and me made him a red and blue swirled cake! And he got a Transformers light up scooter! Perfect for my little man!

A Birthday and a Camping Trip

For Cole's birthday this year, we talked him into going camping because Dale is going to be out of town for pretty much the rest of the summer. :( and we wanted to take the scamper out for the first time! (yes, i know its been a whole year and we haven't taken it out once. Were beginner campers!) So we went Friday afternoon untill Sunday Morning! The best part for the boys was probably shooting the powerade bottles with water in them! Our own ol' faithfull! Oh and dont forget the dirt! What boy doesn't like that?!

Lisa and Emily stayed both nights, and Kyle and Serene and their family came up for roastin hotdogs friday night! Now on to the Birthday Boy! He requested a Strawberry pie this year, so I gave it a shot! Turned out delicious if i do say so myself! Make a wish my 10 year old!

Oh and what would camping be without rock painting?! Like the paint in the ear look?

Rett

Rett can ride a two wheeler!! Here's the story. . . Me and Sid went to get our haircuts. Our hairdresser has a little boy just a little younger than Rett. He knows how to ride a two wheeler. So Rett hopped on the little bike that the boy has and I gave him a little push and away he went! Not even a crash!! And it was even on the grass! So we went home and took off the training wheels on Rett's bike and he loves it! My little kindergartner is growing up!

Sorry! Its sideways! Just turn your head, you'll be alright! :)

Breckenridge, Colorado!

For Memorial Day weekend, Grandpa and Grandma Anderson invited us to their time share condo they have in Breckenridge, Colorado! How could we pass up an offer like that?! So away we went! For a drive that was supposed to be 6 hours long, it turned out to be a 8 hour one. Why do you ask? Where to start?. . .First, I have 3 kids. Second, Rett barfed. Twice. First time, all over himself and his carseat. So we pulled up next to Wendy's drive through. There was a worker over there standing by a hose. So Dale went over and asked him if we could use it to spray Rett down. He said he would go ask the manager. While we waited for the worker to come back, I was stripping Rett down. He says to me "Mom! Do I have to? Everyone can see me!" (because we were by the drive through). So. Here comes the worker. He says to Dale, "No you can't use our hose." So here I am trying to wipe him down with Lysol wipes! Not working - believe it or not! So Dale and I were like "this is ridiculous." Dale goes in and talks to the manager and she finally says yes. So we spray everything off and strap the carseat on the back with the little motorcycle! How white trash can you get?! Then he barfs again. This time luckily in a bag! But between all the barfing, it puts our trip back 2 hours! We are not the road trip kind of family! :)

Alivia just loved Sid!
And Leah and Cole were buddies!

What did we do while we were there? Played cards and more cards!

Oh yeah. We tried to relax in the hot tub, but with the boys, that is not possible! Unless you like being splashed in the face!

Sid and the rock bridge!

NOT TO WORRY! MORE PICS TO COME!

Who Knew!

Who knew that just a simple piece of paper could bring so much fun! Let me explain. . . Paper airplanes are the rage at our house right now. We look them up on the internet, check out books at the library, and make some up! We even have races in the kitchen. Who can go the highest, farthest, do the most loops, and who can hit a target the best! (its usually eachother as the targets! ) Even Dale and me enjoy the fun! Suprising I know! Oh and if you put a paperclip on the top, it makes if fly better AND it hurts the enemy! (not to bad though! :))

This is what happens when I try to make Bread

Sidney and I decided conference Sunday was the best time to attempt to make bread. A little messy in the mixing process, but the final product is delicious! Next time -- wheat bread!

Could it Really Be?

Could it really be? Has Spring finally come? Is it safe to bring out the capri's and flip flops? I sure hope it is! But I'm not going to officially announce it yet. But since the sun has decided to come out for a few days, what could be a better way to start off the somewhat warm weather than drawing with some side walk chalk?! Its fun for everyone! The kids love to draw with it, and Dale likes to shoot it! Me, I just like to watch the fun!

Rett: Mom! Guess what!

Me: What?

Him: I push people down at Lisa's!

Me: What?!?!

Him: Yeah. I push Zach and Andrew down!

Me: Why?

Him: Its a game! It doesn't hurt mom. It doesn't hurt ... me!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Every year, we make heart shaped sugar cookies for Valentines Day. Only once a year. Just the simple heart shaped pink frosting little sprinkled sugar cookies. So this year we got to do it with Kyle, Serene and Brigham. It was just a last minute, thrown together thing, but it was fun. I just decided to blog, since I haven't for a while, and then I thought, "Oh. I guess I should have taken pictures. Oh well." So, no pictures for you!----A little update on what's been going on at our house. Dale went back out to Atlanta, but surprisingly the shortest trip ever, only 4 days! I just had a birthday and went out for dinner at Magelby's with mom and Erine. It was pretty fun and Delicious! Sid scored 2 goals in indoor soccer, (now I owe her $1.20, SHOOT!) and is currently the beehive president. Cole had a pinewood derby, and won the most souped up car. Rett is in preschool, and loves puzzles more than anything, but wrestling. Watching the same movies over and over. Charles (the family hamster) is hanging on by love, dealing with 2 cists on his belly. Our crazy little fam is still living on fourth south, me hoping to find a new house sometime soon. KEEP DREAMING!-- Happy Valentines day everyone!

Choo-Choo!

2 Friday's ago, (see that's how bad I am at blogging) me and Dale suprised the kids with a visit to the model train show down at Thanksgiving Point. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a show with toy trains (the fragile ones) that run on a track with amazing scenery behind it. Anyway, we were so impressed with the backgrounds! One was made all out of lego's! It was probably bigger than my room! Another was like a scavenger hunt. You had to find all these little things like Bella, Edward and Jacob. And a port-a-potty. Cole loved it! Sid just adored the itsy-bitsy people. Rett liked the trains of course especially the one that YOU got to drive!

Cole looks so happy here right?!

The Campout

This is going to make you laugh. Saturday night- Sid insisted on sleeping out in the Scamper. So Dale gave in which made Cole want to. Rett couldn't because he has had a really bad cough. And me, well I will absoulutly not. Untill we are camping. Why would I if I have a nice warm bed right next door? Sunday night- Rett felt left out, so him and Sid slept out there. Dale couldn't because he had to work on Monday. Cole was going to, but he came to the dark side with me. Well, After watching many episodes of Curious George, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid on a small little T.V., they finally fell asleep. The cool thing was, they slept in untill 9:00! But hey! That is really good for a kid that gets up at 7:30 on the weekends!
